Yellow Dust

If haven't heard of Yellow dust before, beware.  It's deadly, or at least it feels pretty deadly at the moment.  Yellow Dust comes from China, also known as Asian dust or Chinese Dust storms.  Here's a little insight of what yellow dust is. 
Asian Dust (also yellow dust, yellow sand, yellow wind or China dust storms) is a seasonal meteorological phenomenon which affects much of East Asia sporadically during the springtime months. The dust originates in the deserts of Mongolia, northern China andKazakhstan where high-speed surface winds and intense dust storms kick up dense clouds of fine, dry soil particles. These clouds are then carried eastward by prevailing winds and pass over China, North and South Korea, and Japan, as well as parts of the Russian Far East. Sometimes, the airborne particulates are carried much further, in significant concentrations which affect air quality as far east as the United States. (thank you wikipedia) 


Now you may be thinking, what's the big deal with a little dust?? I thought the same thing.  Until now.  It is currently Monday afternoon and as of this morning I have had a swollen throat and can't stop coughing. You might be thinking that I'm just getting sick, but no.  Everyone is like this.  Almost everyone I pass is coughing.  The solution, wear a face mask. Luckily I have a teacher who sewed me a face mask with flowers on it....But, it's not really my thing, so I think I might just tough it out.  So if you notice the air quality of the States getting worse...blame it on China, that's what we do here in good ol' Korea.
